Jennifer Gaie Hellum

Jennifer Gaie Hellum is a 42-year-old wife and mother of two who recently began her graduate studies at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communications at Arizona State University in Phoenix.

Jennifer received her undergraduate degree in advertising from the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Journalism.  In her first career, she worked in media planning at agencies in Boston, Philadelphia, Chicago and Los Angeles for clients such 7UP, Hallmark and Subaru.

She began her second career as a stay-at-home mom while living in Manhattan.  Her husband’s job took the family from New York to Chicago, St. Louis and eventually Phoenix.

After considering careers in Spanish education, photography and interior design, Jennifer was inspired to go back to school when her sister and journalism-school classmate, Martha, challenged her accept that she was, in fact, a writer.
